How would you describe New York? I don't know. I don't know if you can describe it. But I can tell you what it is not. It is not a place unwelcoming or unkind. Rather it is a place where dreams come. It's a place where every face tells a story. It's a place where people have fallen in love and died. It's life. It's sitting out on a step in Harlem on a summer day with an otter pop. It's humid, it's muggy, it's miserable winters, but it's somehow always home, and it's been home to the meek, the poor, the huddled masses. We all came to New York or came through it. That's all.
